10 Days Uganda Family Safari Collection

The 10 Days Uganda Family Safari Collection is planned around one practical fact: Uganda's gorilla trekking age limit is 15, so a genuine family itinerary needs a structure that works for parents and children travelling together, not a standard circuit with a kids' menu added on. This itinerary combines Lake Mburo (Uganda's most family-friendly park, with no elephants and a limited lion population), Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi, with alternating parent treks built in.

Frequently asked questions

What is Uganda's minimum age for gorilla trekking?
15 years old, set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. This itinerary is built specifically around that rule with alternating parent treks.

What do younger children do while parents trek?
Most Bwindi lodges offer a supervised lodge-based morning, and we typically add a Batwa Community Experience or guided nature walk as an alternative activity for the accompanying parent and children.

Is Lake Mburo genuinely safer for young children than Uganda's other parks?
It's the one park where walking and horseback safaris are routinely offered, specifically because it has no elephants and only a sparse lion population — see our Lake Mburo guide for detail.

Travelling with children of different ages? Enquire now and tell us your family's ages — the itinerary above adapts around them.
